P4-REQ-21-7-007

Cross-plane implementation relationships SHALL preserve the distinct architectural purpose of each Runtime Plane involved.

Part 4, Section 21.7: Runtime Plane Realization Requirements.

Phase 0 implementation interactions may involve more than one Runtime Plane, but shared implementation mechanisms must not erase the architectural distinctions among those concerns.

Preserving each Runtime Plane's purpose allows cross-plane interactions to remain understandable, traceable, governable, and reviewable.

This requirement applies to:

  • cross-plane DDS exchanges;
  • shared implementation participants;
  • cross-plane logging and exception handling;
  • audit and provenance relationships;
  • policy and release relationships; and
  • cross-plane implementation mappings.

Verification SHALL confirm that cross-plane implementation relationships preserve the distinct purpose of every Runtime Plane involved.

Verification activities should include review checks confirming that:

  • each Runtime Plane role remains identifiable;
  • shared implementation mechanisms do not merge architectural meaning;
  • mappings identify all applicable Runtime Planes;
  • governance and traceability remain plane-aware; and
  • cross-plane behavior is documented where applicable.

This requirement preserves separation of concerns across Phase 0 Runtime Plane implementation relationships.
