P4-REQ-21-12-002

Each approved script SHALL identify its purpose.

Part 4, Section 21.12: Script and Execution Requirements.

A script must have an explicit purpose so contributors and reviewers can understand why it exists and which Phase 0 implementation activity it supports.

Purpose identification prevents ungoverned automation from entering the implementation baseline and helps distinguish approved scripts from exploratory or local scripts.

This requirement applies to:

  • approved Phase 0 scripts;
  • script headers;
  • script documentation; and
  • script review records.

Verification SHALL confirm that each approved Phase 0 script identifies its purpose.

Verification activities should include review checks confirming that:

  • the script purpose is stated;
  • the purpose corresponds to an approved Phase 0 activity;
  • the purpose is consistent with repository workflow; and
  • the script does not perform undocumented baseline-affecting activity.

This requirement establishes the purpose relationship between an approved script and the Phase 0 implementation activity it supports.
