Evidence SHALL preserve Traceability to the relevant conceptual, logical, implementation, deployment, execution, or Governance and Authority context.

Evidence has value when reviewers can understand the context it supports. Traceability to conceptual, logical, implementation, deployment, execution, or governance and authority context allows Evidence to support review, auditability, reconstruction, conformance assessment, and defensibility.

This requirement prevents Evidence from becoming disconnected from the architectural, operational, or governance context that gives it meaning.

This requirement applies to Evidence records and evidence traceability relationships.

It applies specifically to traceability from Evidence to:

• Conceptual context
• Logical context
• Implementation context
• Deployment context
• Execution context
• Governance and Authority context

Verification SHALL confirm that Evidence preserves Traceability to the relevant conceptual, logical, implementation, deployment, execution, or Governance and Authority context.

Verification activities include review checks confirming that:

• Evidence identifies its relevant context
• Evidence traces to the conceptual context where applicable
• Evidence traces to logical, implementation, deployment, or execution context, where applicable
• Evidence traces to the Governance and Authority context, where applicable
• Evidence supports backward review of the relevant context
