P1-REQ-13-5-001

The Conceptual Architecture SHALL define the following conceptual Runtime Planes: Control Plane, Data Plane, Health and Observability Plane, Policy and Release Plane, and Audit and Provenance Plane.

Part 1, Section 13.5: Runtime Plane Requirements.

The Conceptual Architecture requires a defined set of Runtime Planes to separate runtime communication and behavior by architectural purpose. These planes provide the conceptual basis for coordinating Nodes, carrying domain and analytical information, observing operational condition, governing release, and supporting audit and provenance.

Defining the Runtime Planes at the conceptual level prevents implementation mechanisms, deployment boundaries, or runtime identifiers from replacing architectural purpose.

This requirement applies to Runtime Plane definitions and references within the Conceptual Architecture.

It applies specifically to:

  • Control Plane
  • Data Plane
  • Health and Observability Plane
  • Policy and Release Plane
  • Audit and Provenance Plane

Verification SHALL confirm that the Conceptual Architecture defines the required conceptual Runtime Planes.

Verification activities include review checks confirming that:

  • Each required Runtime Plane appears in the Conceptual Architecture
  • Each Runtime Plane has a distinct architectural purpose
  • Runtime Plane definitions remain conceptual
  • Runtime Plane definitions do not depend on implementation or deployment mechanisms
