ENV-002 — Configure Test Environment

The DIDO-TE SHALL configure each Test Environment before Test Execution.

A controlled Configuration establishes the actual operating state of a Test Environment before Test Execution.

Configuring the Test Environment according to its controlled descriptive information establishes consistency between the defined environment and its instantiated state. Recording the resulting Configuration preserves the information required to reproduce the environment, compare separate Test Executions, identify environmental differences, and interpret the resulting Test Results.

Validation before Test Execution prevents an incorrectly configured Test Environment from producing Test Results presented as originating from the specified Test Environment and Baseline.

Verification confirms that:

• The DIDO-TE configures each Test Environment before Test Execution.
• The configured Test Environment satisfies ENV-002a through ENV-002l.
• The DIDO-TE maintains Traceability among the controlled Test Environment description, resulting Configuration, applicable Baseline, and Test Execution.
• The DIDO-TE prevents Test Execution when the resulting Configuration fails validation.
• The DIDO-TE records Configuration validation failures as Evidence.

Verification includes:

• Inspection of the controlled Test Environment description
• Inspection of the resulting Test Environment Configuration
• Inspection of the applicable Configuration and Baseline records
• Inspection of Traceability records
• Inspection of the verification results for ENV-002a through ENV-002l
• Execution of Configuration validation before Test Execution
• A negative assessment using a Configuration that differs from the controlled Test Environment description
• Confirmation that the DIDO-TE prevents Test Execution when Configuration validation fails
• Inspection of the Evidence recording the Configuration validation failure
