ENV-002f — Establish Communication Relationships

The DIDO-TE SHALL establish each communication relationship specified for a Test Environment before Test Execution.

Establishing each specified communication relationship provides the controlled information paths required among the Test Objects, Nodes, Test Resources, and supporting services within a Test Environment.

Each communication relationship determines the participating endpoints and the applicable direction, protocol, interface, data exchange, addressing, quality, and security conditions.

Establishing and verifying these relationships before Test Execution prevents missing, incorrect, or unintended communication paths from affecting execution or the resulting Test Results.

Verification confirms that:

  • The DIDO-TE establishes every communication relationship specified for the Test Environment.
  • Each established communication relationship connects the specified participating endpoints.
  • Each established communication relationship has the specified direction, protocol, interface, addressing, data exchange, and quality characteristics, when applicable.
  • Each established communication relationship satisfies its applicable security and environmental Constraints.
  • The configured Test Environment excludes communication relationships prohibited by its controlled information.
  • The DIDO-TE records each established communication relationship as part of the resulting Test Environment Configuration.
  • The DIDO-TE maintains Traceability between each specified communication relationship and its configured instance.
  • A missing, incorrect, prohibited, or untraceable communication relationship constitutes nonconformance with this requirement.

Verification includes:

  • Inspection of the communication relationships specified for the Test Environment
  • Inspection of the endpoints and characteristics of each established communication relationship
  • Testing of communication across each required relationship
  • Testing for the absence of each prohibited communication relationship
  • Comparison of the observed communication relationships with the controlled Test Environment information
  • Inspection of the resulting Test Environment Configuration
  • Inspection of Traceability records connecting each specified communication relationship to its configured instance
  • A negative assessment using a missing, incorrect, prohibited, or untraceable communication relationship
  • Confirmation that the negative assessment produces a nonconformance result
  • Add links to the architecture sections governing Test Environment communication, interfaces, information exchange, connectivity, and security.

Assign the applicable delivery phase.
