The repository model SHALL distinguish governed source artifacts from generated artifacts, temporary build outputs, local developer artifacts, exploratory material, and approved documentation.
Source
Part 4, Section 21.10: Repository and Build Artifact Requirements.
Rationale
Different artifact categories have different governance, modification, review, generation, and retention expectations.
Maintaining clear distinctions prevents temporary, exploratory, local, or generated material from being mistaken for authoritative governed source and protects the integrity of the Phase 0 implementation baseline.
Applies To
This requirement applies to:
-
governed source artifacts;
-
generated artifacts;
-
temporary build outputs;
-
local developer artifacts;
-
exploratory material; and
-
approved documentation.
Verification
Verification SHALL confirm that the repository model distinguishes the specified artifact categories.
Verification activities should include review checks confirming that:
-
governed source and generated artifacts are separately identifiable;
-
temporary outputs are separately identifiable;
-
local and exploratory material are distinguishable from baseline material;
-
approved documentation is identifiable; and
-
repository workflow preserves these distinctions.
Traceability
