P4-REQ-21-6-004

Each IDL and generated type mapping SHALL identify the Runtime Plane or Runtime Planes associated with the information structure.

Part 4, Section 21.6: Information Structure Mapping Requirements.

Runtime Plane classification preserves the separation of implementation concerns associated with the information structure.

Recording the applicable Runtime Plane or Runtime Planes allows data representation, communication, logging, governance, and later observation concerns to remain aligned with the logical purpose of the information.

This requirement applies to:

  • IDL mappings;
  • generated type mappings;
  • Runtime Plane mappings;
  • DDS Topic mappings; and
  • applicable implementation participants.

Verification SHALL confirm that each IDL and generated type mapping identifies its associated Runtime Plane or Runtime Planes.

Verification activities should include review checks confirming that:

  • applicable Runtime Planes are explicitly identified;
  • mappings agree with the Part 3 classification;
  • multi-plane associations are recorded where applicable; and
  • implementation representations do not collapse distinct Runtime Plane concerns.

This requirement connects Phase 0 information representations to their applicable Part 3 Runtime Plane classifications.
