P4-REQ-21-3-009
Statement
The Phase 0 technology selections SHALL NOT redefine the conceptual architecture, logical architecture, or FX Demo Logical Profile.
Source
Part 4, Section 21.3: Technology Selection Requirements.
Rationale
Phase 0 technologies are implementation mechanisms selected to realise architectural elements defined by Parts 1, 2, and 3. Allowing those technologies to redefine architectural meaning would collapse the separation between architecture and implementation.
This constraint preserves the authority of the conceptual, logical, and FX logical architectural layers regardless of the technologies selected for Phase 0.
Applies To
This requirement applies to:
-
DDS;
-
IDL;
-
QoS profiles;
-
generated types;
-
Python;
-
scripts;
-
repository organisation; and
-
other Phase 0 implementation technologies or mechanisms.
Verification
Verification SHALL confirm that Phase 0 technology selections realise rather than redefine architectural elements.
Verification activities should include review checks confirming that:
-
DDS Topics remain implementations of logical Communication Endpoints;
-
IDL structures remain implementations of logical information structures;
-
generated types remain derived implementation artefacts;
-
repository and script structures remain implementation concerns; and
-
technology-specific decisions do not alter conceptual or logical meaning.
Traceability
This requirement preserves the separation between the Part 1 Conceptual Architecture, Part 2 Logical Architecture, Part 3 FX Demo Logical Profile, and Part 4 technology selections.
