P1-REQ-13-9-006
Statement
The Logical Architecture / PIM SHALL provide Traceability from logical elements to the conceptual elements they specialize, refine, constrain, or relate.
Source
Part 1, Section 13.9: Relationship to Logical Architecture / PIM Requirements.
Rationale
Traceability from logical elements to conceptual elements preserves the connection between conceptual meaning and logical refinement. It allows reviewers to confirm that each logical element has a conceptual basis and that logical refinement does not change conceptual meaning.
This requirement supports forward review, backward review, impact analysis, and controlled evolution between Part 1 and the Logical Architecture / PIM.
Applies To
This requirement applies to Logical Architecture / PIM traceability relationships.
It applies specifically to logical elements that:
-
Specialize conceptual elements
-
Refine conceptual elements
-
Constrain conceptual elements
-
Relate to conceptual elements
-
Support conceptual-to-logical review
Verification
Verification SHALL confirm that the Logical Architecture / PIM provides Traceability from logical elements to the conceptual elements they specialize, refine, constrain, or relate.
Verification activities include review checks confirming that:
-
Logical elements identify related conceptual elements
-
Trace links describe specialization, refinement, constraint, or relationship
-
Trace links support review from logical elements back to conceptual elements
-
Trace links support impact analysis between conceptual and logical material
