NOD-003a — Select the Node Configuration
Statement
The DIDO-TE SHALL select the applicable Node Configuration for each Node.
Derived From
-
[DTE5] DIDO-TE Requirements Register, source requirement identifier and obligation to be assigned
Rationale
Selecting the Node Configuration identifies the controlled configuration applicable to a particular Node instance and Test Execution.
The selection accounts for the Node Definition, Node Implementation, Node role, Test Definition, Test Environment, and applicable Governance constraints. It distinguishes the selected Node Configuration from other configurations associated with the same Node type or Node Implementation.
An incorrect, obsolete, incompatible, or unauthorized selection may alter Node behavior and invalidate subsequent Test Results.
This requirement governs configuration selection. Separate requirements govern resolving Configuration Values, applying the Node Configuration, establishing Node Bindings, recording the resulting configuration, and validating the configured Node.
Applies To
Verification
Verification confirms that:
-
Each selected Node Configuration has a unique identity and version.
-
The selection identifies the Node instance to which the Node Configuration applies.
-
The selected Node Configuration corresponds to the applicable Node Definition and Node Implementation.
-
The selected Node Configuration corresponds to the applicable Node role, Test Definition, and Test Environment.
-
The selected Node Configuration satisfies applicable compatibility, security, jurisdictional, residency, and Governance constraints.
-
The selection uses an identified and authorized Configuration Source.
-
The DIDO-TE detects a missing, obsolete, incompatible, conflicting, altered, or unauthorized Node Configuration.
-
The DIDO-TE prevents an invalid selection from proceeding to Configuration Application.
-
The DIDO-TE records the selection criteria, selected Node Configuration, selection authority, time, findings, and exceptions.
-
An approved exception identifies its authority, rationale, scope, duration, and expected effect.
-
The DIDO-TE maintains Traceability among the Node instance, Node Definition, Node Implementation, selected Node Configuration, Test Definition, Test Environment, selection activity, and resulting Evidence.
-
A missing, incompatible, unauthorized, ambiguous, or untraceable configuration selection constitutes nonconformance with this requirement.
Verification includes:
-
Inspection of the available and selected Node Configurations
-
Comparison of the selection with the Node Definition and Node Implementation
-
Comparison of the selection with the Test Definition and Test Environment
-
Confirmation of the Node Configuration identity, version, Configuration Source, and authority
-
A negative assessment involving an obsolete or incompatible Node Configuration
-
A negative assessment involving an unauthorized Node Configuration
-
Confirmation that an invalid selection cannot proceed to Configuration Application
-
Inspection of selection records, findings, exceptions, Evidence, and Traceability
