Configuration Value

A Configuration Value supplies the data assigned to a Configuration Parameter within a Node Configuration.

The value appears as a literal, reference, default, inherited value, expression, substitution, or value obtained from a controlled Configuration Source. Value resolution converts the applicable representation into the actual value assigned to the Configuration Parameter.

A Configuration Value remains associated with its identity, source, authority, data type, format, units, constraints, and resolution history.

A Configuration Value remains distinct from a Test Input. A Configuration Value establishes an aspect of how a Node operates. A Test Input supplies data or stimuli consumed during Test Execution.

data assigned to a Configuration Parameter to establish an aspect of a Node Configuration

DIDO Solutions project definition.

A Configuration Value requires protection when its disclosure, alteration, substitution, or misuse compromises the Node, Test Environment, or associated information.

Protected values include a Credential, Cryptographic Material, personal information, proprietary information, or other sensitive data.

A protected reference, identifier, digest, or redacted representation preserves identification and Traceability without exposing the Configuration Value.

The integer `42` assigned to the Configuration Parameter `ddsDomainId` constitutes a Configuration Value.
