FR-BAS-001 — Consume Baseline Repositories from a Workspace

Crucible SHALL consume Baseline Repositories containing Image Layers or Infrastructure Baselines from a Workspace.

This requirement derives from:

• Crucible System Requirements Specification, Version 1.1 Draft, Functional Requirements, FR-BAS-001

The Original Requirement states:

The system shall consume image-layer and infrastructure-baseline repositories from a checked-out workspace.[C1]

FR-BAS-001:

• Replaces The system with the defined system name Crucible
• Changes shall to the established uppercase normative form SHALL
• Replaces image-layer and infrastructure-baseline repositories with the controlled Baseline Repository, Image Layer, and Infrastructure Baseline concepts
• Replaces checked-out workspace with the controlled term Workspace
• Uses or so a Workspace can contain an Image Layer repository, an Infrastructure Baseline repository, or both

No other substantive normalization is required.

A Workspace provides the bounded working context in which selected repository content is available to Crucible operations.

Consuming Baseline Repositories from a Workspace enables Crucible to use identified Image Layers and Infrastructure Baselines as inputs to later operations, including Baseline Selection and Baseline Composition.

This requirement allows a Workspace to contain:

• One or more Baseline Repositories containing Image Layers
• One or more Baseline Repositories containing Infrastructure Baselines
• Both types of Baseline Repository

This requirement establishes consumption of Baseline Repositories from a Workspace without prescribing:

• A particular repository-hosting service
• A particular repository layout
• A particular checkout mechanism
• A particular Git branch
• A particular Revision
• Repository authentication or authorization
• Baseline Selection
• Baseline Composition
• Application-source inclusion
• Deployment or validation behavior

Separate requirements, architecture specifications, repository profiles, and Workflow definitions govern those subjects and behaviors.

This requirement applies to:

• Crucible
• Workspaces
• Baseline Repositories
• Image Layers
• Infrastructure Baselines

Verification confirms that:

1. A Workspace containing at least one Baseline Repository is selected for testing
2. The selected Baseline Repository contains one or more Image Layers or Infrastructure Baselines
3. Crucible accesses the selected Baseline Repository from the Workspace
4. Crucible consumes the Image Layers or Infrastructure Baselines contained in the selected Baseline Repository
5. The consumed repository content can be identified as input to the tested Crucible operation
