P4-REQ-21-9-001

The Phase 0 Implementation Profile / PSM SHALL define a Phase 0 QoS Profile Model.

Part 4, Section 21.9: QoS Profile Requirements.

A defined QoS Profile Model establishes the controlled communication behavior used by the selected Phase 0 DDS implementation.

The model makes communication characteristics explicit and allows QoS selections to remain aligned with DDS Topic mappings, Runtime Plane purposes, and the Phase 0 implementation baseline.

This requirement applies to:

  • Phase 0 QoS profiles;
  • DDS Topic mappings;
  • Runtime Plane mappings;
  • publisher and subscriber configuration; and
  • communication compatibility review.

Verification SHALL confirm that the Phase 0 Implementation Profile / PSM defines a Phase 0 QoS Profile Model.

Verification activities should include review checks confirming that:

  • applicable QoS profile families are identified;
  • QoS mappings identify their communication purpose;
  • applicable DDS Topic relationships are defined; and
  • QoS configuration is governed by the Phase 0 implementation baseline.

This requirement establishes the Phase 0 communication behavior model used by the remaining QoS requirements.
