P4-REQ-21-8-008

Each interaction realization SHALL identify the required logging and exception-handling behavior.

Part 4, Section 21.8: Interaction Pattern Realization Requirements.

Interaction execution must expose sufficient operational information to make successful processing, warnings, degradation, failures, and recovery behavior reviewable.

Defining logging and exception-handling behavior ensures that important processing conditions are not silently hidden and supports later observation and evidence planning.

This requirement applies to:

  • interaction realizations;
  • logging behavior;
  • exception handling;
  • processing outcomes; and
  • participating implementation artifacts.

Verification SHALL confirm that each interaction realization identifies its required logging and exception-handling behavior.

Verification activities should include review checks confirming that:

  • required processing events are logged;
  • failures are not silently suppressed;
  • exceptions follow approved handling patterns;
  • applicable warnings and recovery actions are recorded; and
  • behavior conforms to the Developer Handbook.

This requirement connects Phase 0 interaction realizations to the logging and exception-handling conventions defined by Part 4.
