P4-REQ-21-14-002
Statement
Implementation traceability SHALL preserve the chain from Part 1 conceptual elements, through Part 2 logical elements, through Part 3 FX logical profile elements, to Part 4 implementation artifacts.
Source
Part 4, Section 21.14: Implementation Traceability Requirements.
Rationale
The Phase 0 implementation baseline is derived through successive architectural layers. Preserving the complete traceability chain allows implementation artifacts to be understood in the context of the conceptual and logical decisions from which they originate.
This chain also prevents implementation-specific decisions from obscuring or replacing the architectural relationships established by earlier parts.
Applies To
This requirement applies to:
-
conceptual-to-logical relationships;
-
logical-to-FX-logical relationships;
-
FX-logical-to-implementation relationships;
-
implementation mappings; and
-
implementation traceability records.
Verification
Verification SHALL confirm that implementation traceability preserves the chain across Parts 1 through 4.
Verification activities should include review checks confirming that:
-
Part 1 conceptual sources can be identified;
-
Part 2 logical sources can be identified;
-
Part 3 FX logical sources can be identified; and
-
Part 4 implementation artifacts remain connected to those sources.
Traceability
This requirement preserves end-to-end architectural traceability from conceptual architecture through the Phase 0 implementation baseline.
