P2-REQ-16-5-005

Part 2, Section 16.5: Logical Information Requirements.

Logical Messages represent the primary means by which Logical Nodes exchange information. Defining a Logical Message as a Logical Data Structure Instance exchanged through a Logical Communication Endpoint preserves a clear separation between information, communication, and implementation technologies.

This requirement applies to the Logical Information Model.

It applies specifically to:

  • Logical Messages;
  • Logical Data Structure Instances;
  • Logical Communication Endpoints; and
  • Logical Interaction Patterns.

Verification SHALL confirm that each Logical Message represents a Logical Data Structure Instance exchanged through a Logical Communication Endpoint.

Verification activities should include review checks confirming that:

  • Logical Messages are represented as Logical Data Structure Instances;
  • Logical Messages are exchanged through Logical Communication Endpoints;
  • Logical Messages remain platform independent; and
  • implementation technologies do not redefine Logical Messages.

This requirement supports traceability between Logical Messages, Logical Data Structure Instances, Logical Communication Endpoints, and Logical Interaction Patterns.
