Traceability SHALL identify a relationship connecting one architectural, logical, implementation, deployment, or Evidence element to another.

Part 1, Section 13.4: Core Conceptual Element Requirements.

Traceability identifies relationships across architectural, logical, implementation, deployment, and evidence elements. It supports impact analysis, review, verification, change control, and audit.

This requirement makes cross-level relationships explicit and prevents isolated artifacts from losing their connection to architectural intent.

This requirement applies to Traceability references within the Conceptual Architecture.

It applies specifically to relationships among:

• Architectural elements
• Logical elements
• Implementation elements
• Deployment elements
• Evidence elements

Verification SHALL confirm that Traceability identifies relationships connecting architectural, logical, implementation, deployment, or Evidence elements.

Verification activities include review checks confirming that:

• Traceability links identify source and target elements
• Traceability links connect elements across architectural levels
• Traceability links support review and verification
• Traceability links do not replace the elements they connect
