Communication Parameter
Discussion
A Communication Parameter specifies a characteristic that governs the exchange of information between communicating entities.
Communication Parameters may address characteristics such as communication endpoints, addressing, protocol selection, Topic identification, message characteristics, connection behavior, or other properties relevant to information exchange.
A Communication Parameter describes a communication-related characteristic independently of the particular technology used to realize that characteristic.
Quality of Service parameters form a distinct class of communication-related characteristics governing properties such as reliability, durability, latency, resource limits, or delivery behavior.

Note
A Communication Parameter does not establish the semantic meaning, authority, or eligibility of the data exchanged.
Communication Parameters may be realized through network, middleware, DDS, API, messaging, or other communication technologies.
Example
A Twin Relationship identifies the DDS Topic used to exchange a represented state value. The Topic identifier is a Communication Parameter associated with that exchange.
