ENV-001f — Define Communication Relationships
Statement
The DIDO-TE SHALL define each communication relationship required among the elements included in a Test Environment or record that no communication relationship is required and provide the basis for the determination.
Derived From
-
[DTE5] DIDO-TE Requirements Register, source requirement identifier and obligation to be assigned
Rationale
Defining the required communication relationships establishes how the elements included in a Test Environment exchange information during a Test Execution.
The defined relationships provide the information required to configure connectivity, validate the instantiated Test Environment, reproduce its communication structure, and determine whether an unexpected communication path influenced a Test Result.
An explicit determination that no communication relationship is required distinguishes an intentional condition from missing information.
Applies To
Verification
Verification confirms that:
-
Each Test Environment defines every required communication relationship among its included elements.
-
Each defined communication relationship identifies the participating elements.
-
Each communication relationship present in the instantiated Test Environment corresponds to a defined communication relationship.
-
A Test Environment requiring no communication relationship records the determination and its basis.
-
An undefined required communication relationship constitutes nonconformance with this requirement.
Verification includes:
-
Inspection of the controlled information for each Test Environment
-
Inspection of the defined communication relationships
-
Inspection of the communication relationships present in the instantiated Test Environment
-
Comparison of the defined relationships with the relationships present in the instantiated Test Environment
-
Inspection of recorded determinations that no communication relationship is required
-
Inspection of the basis recorded for each such determination
-
A negative assessment using an undefined or unexpected communication relationship
-
Confirmation that the negative assessment produces a nonconformance result
