ENV-003b — Apply Required Configuration Values

Before each Test Execution, the DIDO-TE SHALL apply each required Configuration value to the applicable Test Environment element.

Required Configuration values establish the controlled settings governing the behaviour and interactions of the elements participating in a Test Execution.

Applying each value to its intended Test Environment element ensures the starting state corresponds to the applicable Test Definition and controlled descriptive information.

Controlling Configuration values limits unintended variation among repeated Test Executions and supports Reproducibility, Comparability, and interpretation of the resulting Test Results.

Verification confirms that:

  • The controlled descriptive information identifies each required Configuration value and its applicable Test Environment element.
  • The DIDO-TE applies each required Configuration value before Test Execution.
  • Each applied Configuration value corresponds to the value specified by the controlled descriptive information.
  • The DIDO-TE excludes unspecified, obsolete, conflicting, and prohibited Configuration values.
  • The DIDO-TE records the Configuration values applied to the Test Environment.
  • The DIDO-TE maintains Traceability among each required Configuration value, its applicable Test Environment element, and the applicable Test Execution.
  • A missing, incorrect, conflicting, prohibited, obsolete, or untraceable Configuration value constitutes nonconformance with this requirement.

Verification includes:

  • Inspection of the controlled descriptive information specifying the required Configuration values
  • Inspection of the Configuration values applied to each applicable Test Environment element
  • Comparison of the applied values with the specified values
  • Testing for the absence of unspecified, obsolete, conflicting, and prohibited Configuration values
  • Inspection of the resulting Configuration record
  • Inspection of Traceability records connecting each Configuration value to its applicable element and Test Execution
  • A negative assessment using a missing, incorrect, conflicting, prohibited, obsolete, or untraceable Configuration value
  • Confirmation that the negative assessment produces a nonconformance result
  • Add links to the architecture sections governing Configuration specification, Configuration application, state control, and Test Execution admission.

Assign the applicable delivery phase.
