Performance Measurement Result

A Performance Measurement Result is produced by a Performance Measurement. It associates the obtained value with the Performance Measure and with relevant information needed to interpret that value.

Relevant information may include the measurement unit, uncertainty, method, source, time, Workload, operating conditions, and Provenance.

value attributed to a performance measure together with information needed to interpret the value

  • A Performance Measurement Result is distinct from the Performance Measurement process that produces it
  • A Performance Measurement Result is distinct from a target, threshold, range, or tolerance specified by a Performance Criterion
  • A Performance Measurement Result does not by itself determine whether a Performance Criterion is satisfied

A Performance Measurement Result may record a 95th-percentile Latency of 180 milliseconds together with its Workload, measurement interval, source, method, and operating conditions.
