Performance Criterion
Discussion
A Performance Criterion establishes the measurable condition used to determine whether the Performance of an entity satisfies a specified Requirement.
A Performance Criterion may identify a performance characteristic, measure, target value, threshold, tolerance, comparison operator, workload, operating condition, measurement interval, or other information needed to make the determination. These details belong to the criterion or its supporting information and are not separate obligations within the definition.
Applicable Performance Criteria may originate from Requirements, Policies, Constraints, profiles, standards, contractual obligations, or a designated Authority.
Definition

Note
-
A Performance Criterion states the condition used for evaluation; a performance measure identifies the quantity whose value is obtained
-
A Performance Criterion may establish a minimum, maximum, range, target, tolerance, or another measurable acceptance condition
-
The applicable workload and operating conditions form part of the evaluation context when they affect the interpretation of the criterion
-
Failure to satisfy a Performance Criterion does not by itself determine a Verdict or Validation Decision unless the applicable Evaluation Criteria establish that consequence
Example
A Performance Criterion may require a service to complete 95 percent of specified requests within 200 milliseconds while processing an identified workload under a specified Configuration.
