16.8 Multi-Node Shutdown
Go To Phase 0 Script and Execution Model
Phase 0 may include a multi-node shutdown script or equivalent controlled procedure.
The multi-node shutdown script stops a controlled set of implementation participants and records shutdown behavior according to the logging, status-reporting, and exception-handling baseline.
The shutdown procedure should identify:
-
Implementation participants to stop
-
Expected shutdown order or coordination pattern
-
Status reports expected during shutdown
-
Logs expected during shutdown
-
Command acknowledgements expected where control commands initiate shutdown
-
Cleanup actions performed
-
Conditions that indicate successful shutdown
-
Conditions that indicate abnormal shutdown
Shutdown supports observability and later evidence planning. A participant that fails to stop cleanly must report or record that condition according to the Health and Observability, Control Plane, or Audit and Provenance conventions applicable to the failure.
