14.5 Generated Code Directory Model
Go To Phase 0 Repository and Build Artifact Model
The generated code directory contains artifacts produced from governed source definitions such as IDL files.
Generated artifacts include generated types, generated DDS support code, generated bindings, and other generator outputs selected for Phase 0. Generated files must identify their source definition, generator, generation context, regeneration policy, and manual-editing status.
Developers must not hand-edit generated files unless the generated-file header explicitly permits manual modification. Manual adaptation belongs in hand-authored wrapper modules, helper modules, adapter modules, or other approved source locations.
The generated code directory supports repeatability. A reviewer must be able to determine which source definition produced a generated artifact and how to regenerate it.
