14.4 IDL Directory Model

The IDL directory contains governed IDL definitions used to generate Phase 0 implementation data artifacts.

IDL artifacts realize selected FX logical information structures. Each IDL file must preserve Traceability to the FX logical information structures it represents. IDL comments or associated metadata should identify the source logical information structure, related DDS Topic, Runtime Plane, version context, and generation rule.

The IDL directory is a governed source location. Changes to IDL definitions can affect generated types, DDS Topic compatibility, implementation modules, tests, scripts, traceability tables, and later deployment and Evidence planning. IDL changes therefore require review under the Phase 0 implementation governance model.
