15.3 Logical Endpoints Remain Distinct from Communication Technologies

Go To Top

A Logical Communication Endpoint represents a platform-independent point of information exchange among Logical Nodes. It does not represent a DDS Topic, REST resource, RPC method, Protocol Buffers service, message queue, event stream, file, database handoff, shared memory location, or network route.

Implementation profiles select communication mechanisms that realize Logical Communication Endpoints. The selected mechanism supports logical exchange but does not redefine the endpoint’s logical purpose, participating Nodes, Communication Roles, information structures, Runtime Plane classification, governance constraints, or Evidence expectations.
