P4-REQ-21-12-009

Phase 0 SHALL include a prerequisite-checking script or equivalent controlled procedure.

Part 4, Section 21.12: Script and Execution Requirements.

Generation, build preparation, and execution depend on a valid environment containing required tools, directories, dependencies, configuration, and repository conventions.

A prerequisite check prevents downstream procedures from treating an incomplete or incompatible environment as a valid Phase 0 implementation baseline.

This requirement applies to:

  • Phase 0 development environments;
  • required tooling;
  • repository structure;
  • DDS and IDL tooling;
  • Python dependencies; and
  • applicable configuration and environment variables.

Verification SHALL confirm that Phase 0 includes a prerequisite-checking script or equivalent controlled procedure.

Verification activities should include review checks confirming that:

  • required tools are checked;
  • required repository locations are checked;
  • applicable configuration is checked;
  • required runtime dependencies are checked; and
  • failed prerequisites prevent uncontrolled downstream execution.

This requirement establishes the controlled environment-validation step preceding applicable Phase 0 generation and execution activities.
