P3-REQ-17-7-007
Statement
The Logical Audit and Provenance Plane SHALL support auditability, provenance, lineage, reconstruction, replay, review, accountability, and defensibility for FX logical processing.
Source
Part 3, Section 17.7: FX Runtime Plane Requirements.
Rationale
The Logical Audit and Provenance Plane provides the architectural capability for preserving evidence of FX logical processing throughout the lifecycle of information and operational activities. It supports auditability, provenance, lineage, reconstruction, replay, review, accountability, and defensibility while remaining independent of implementation technologies, storage mechanisms, and deployment environments.
Maintaining audit and provenance capabilities within a dedicated Runtime Plane preserves separation of concerns and enables evidence generation without coupling these responsibilities to operational control, business information exchange, or policy enforcement.
Applies To
This requirement applies to the Logical Audit and Provenance Plane defined by the FX Demo Logical Profile.
It applies specifically to:
-
auditability;
-
provenance management;
-
lineage;
-
evidence generation;
-
Runtime Plane architecture;
-
architectural governance; and
-
derived Implementation Profiles.
Verification
Verification SHALL confirm that the Logical Audit and Provenance Plane supports auditability, provenance, lineage, reconstruction, replay, review, accountability, and defensibility.
Verification activities should include review checks confirming that:
-
audit responsibilities are defined;
-
provenance and lineage are supported;
-
reconstruction and replay capabilities are identified;
-
accountability and defensibility are preserved;
-
audit responsibilities remain separate from other Runtime Plane responsibilities; and
-
implementation technologies are not prescribed.
Traceability
This requirement defines the architectural responsibility of the Logical Audit and Provenance Plane within the FX Runtime Plane model.
