The Logical Traceability Model SHALL define Traceability from Part 1 conceptual elements to Part 2 logical elements.

Part 2, Section 16.9: Logical Traceability Requirements.

The Logical Architecture refines, but does not replace, the Part 1 Conceptual Architecture. Explicit traceability preserves the relationship between conceptual intent and logical realization, supporting governance, review, impact analysis, and long-term architectural evolution.

This requirement applies to the Logical Traceability Model.

It applies specifically to:

  • Part 1 Conceptual Architecture;
  • Part 2 Logical Architecture;
  • Conceptual elements; and
  • Logical elements.

Verification SHALL confirm that the Logical Traceability Model defines traceability from Part 1 conceptual elements to Part 2 logical elements.

Verification activities should include review checks confirming that:

  • conceptual sources are identified;
  • logical elements trace to their conceptual origins;
  • traceability supports architectural review; and
  • conceptual meaning is preserved.

This requirement supports traceability between conceptual architecture and logical architecture.
