Conformance Criterion
Discussion
A Conformance Criterion establishes an assessable condition used to determine whether an identified subject satisfies an applicable Requirement and therefore achieves Conformance.
A Conformance Criterion translates a normative Requirement into an observable and assessable condition without changing the meaning or scope of the Requirement.
A Conformance Criterion provides the basis for evaluating Evidence and supports objective, repeatable, and comparable conformance assessments.
A Conformance Criterion forms part of a Conformance Model.
Definition
assessable condition used to determine satisfaction of a specified requirement

Note
A Conformance Criterion differs from a Requirement.
A Requirement states an obligation.
A Conformance Criterion establishes the assessable condition used to determine whether the obligation has been satisfied.
A Conformance Criterion also differs from a Conformance Point.
A Conformance Criterion defines what an evaluator assesses.
A Conformance Point identifies where an evaluator performs or observes the assessment.
A Conformance Criterion should not introduce an obligation that does not exist in the governing Requirement.
Example
For a Requirement stating that a DIDO-TE implementation preserves Evidence, the associated Conformance Criterion identifies the observable condition used to determine whether the required Evidence has been preserved.
