6.4.1 Architectural Description

The architectural description defines the structural organization of the Reference Architecture, including its elements, relationships, interaction constructs, and governance abstractions.

  1. Proposals SHALL include a structured architectural description of the Reference Architecture.
  2. Proposals SHALL describe the architectural elements, their responsibilities, and the relationships among them.
  3. Proposals SHALL describe the interaction constructs and attachment points through which structured information flows between architectural elements.
  4. Proposals SHALL provide visual representations illustrating ordered processing flows and boundary constructs without requiring any specific modeling notation.
  5. Proposals SHALL describe the architectural separation between the data plane and the control plane.
  6. Proposals SHALL describe how governance constraints are defined independently of interface contracts.
