SIP-051 — Flow and Interface Description
Statement
The Submission SHALL describe the structured information flows, attachment points, Interface Contracts, and information-flow segmentation mechanisms defined by the proposed Reference Architecture.
Rationale
Structured information moves between architectural elements through defined attachment points and governed Interface Contracts. A complete description of these constructs enables reviewers and implementers to understand how information enters, moves through, and exits the architecture.
The description must also identify how Governance and security constraints segment information flows. This supports controlled interaction across organizational, jurisdictional, implementation, and security boundaries.
Evaluation Criteria
A conforming Submission demonstrates that:
-
Structured information-flow constructs are identified and described
-
The sources and destinations of applicable information flows are identified
-
Attachment points associated with architectural elements are described
-
Ingress and egress responsibilities are assigned to applicable attachment points
-
Interface Contracts governing exchange across attachment points are identified
-
Information governed by each Interface Contract is described
-
Applicable Governance and security constraints are identified
-
Information-flow segmentation mechanisms are described
-
Relationships among flows, attachment points, Interface Contracts, boundaries, and segmentation mechanisms are represented
-
The description is consistent with the normative architectural model
Required Coverage
The description includes the architectural information governed by:
