2. Purpose

Go to Top

The purpose of the Governed Node Service Market is to support governed competition among eligible participants in a distributed financial architecture.

The concept allows Qualified Service Providers to offer governed functions through Qualified Nodes. It allows the architecture to select among eligible implementations according to cost, performance, availability, jurisdictional suitability, data residency, data sovereignty, security, service-level performance, policy compatibility, evidence quality, and non-functional characteristics.

The concept supports four architectural goals:

  1. Separates currency conversion from service compensation. The exchange rate determines the contractual currency conversion. The Cost Recovery, Compensation, and Settlement Plane addresses the economic treatment of governed work.
  2. Supports policy-constrained competition. A lower-cost provider has architectural value only when it satisfies the same governed work obligations and produces the required evidence.
  3. Supports jurisdictional legitimacy. Multinational institutions, smaller providers, regulators, public-sector entities, and specialized service providers participate without forcing all authority into a single private platform or global Ledger.
  4. Reduces the due diligence burden on buyers, integrators, regulators, auditors, and governance bodies by making qualification, conformance, non-functional characteristics, and evidence visible before selection.
