18.3 Type Generation Acceptance Criteria

Go To Top

Return to Acceptance Criteria

Type generation satisfies Phase 0 acceptance when the team can generate required DDS/IDL-derived Artifacts from approved IDL source definitions through a documented and repeatable workflow.

Type generation acceptance requires:

  1. Approved IDL source files exist in the expected Repository location.
  2. Required IDL files parse successfully.
  3. The approved DDS type generator or IDL compiler runs successfully.
  4. Generated Artifacts appear in the approved generated locations.
  5. Generated Artifacts remain separated from handwritten source files.
  6. Generated Artifacts identify their generated status where practical.
  7. The generation workflow supports the selected DDS product, target language, and version range identified in the applicable checklist instance.
  8. The generation workflow avoids overwriting handwritten files.
  9. Build or validation steps confirm that generated types can be imported, compiled, loaded, or otherwise used by the relevant Node implementation.
  10. The generation process produces logs, manifests, or other Evidence sufficient for review.
  11. IDL changes trigger regeneration or a documented explanation of why regeneration does not apply.
