The ''buildContainers.sh'' script should build the container images required for the Phase 0 [[dido:99_annexes:annex-b-terms-and-definitions:n:node|Node]] network and supporting tools. It should package implementation [[dido:99_annexes:annex-b-terms-and-definitions:a:artifact|Artifacts]] in a repeatable way without hiding Node Identity, [[dido:99_annexes:annex-b-terms-and-definitions:c:configuration|Configuration]] assumptions, or dependencies on generated Artifacts.

The script should:

  - Validate the required container runtime.
  - Validate required source files, generated Artifacts, and Configuration files.
  - Build the approved container images.
  - Apply the approved image naming convention.
  - Report image names and tags.
  - Fail clearly when a build step fails.
  - Avoid relying on untracked local files.
  - Avoid embedding secrets or developer-specific paths in images.
  - Produce build logs or [[dido:99_annexes:annex-b-terms-and-definitions:e:evidence|Evidence]] where required.

The script should align with the applicable checklist instance for container runtime product, version, and role-specific requirements.
