16.4 Type Generation

Go To Phase 0 Script and Execution Model

Phase 0 must include a controlled type-generation script or equivalent controlled procedure when generated types form part of the implementation baseline.

The type-generation script reads governed IDL definitions and produces generated types in the approved generated-code location. The script must preserve repeatability and traceability.

The type-generation script must identify:

  1. Source IDL file or files
  2. Generator or generation command
  3. Generated output location
  4. Generated artifacts produced
  5. Regeneration policy
  6. Manual-editing rule for generated files
  7. Affected DDS Topic mappings
  8. Affected implementation modules where applicable
  9. Related FX logical information structures

The script must not silently overwrite hand-authored files. Generated output locations must remain distinct from hand-authored source locations unless the Developer Handbook explicitly allows a controlled exception.
