The Phase 0 QoS Profile Model defines the [[dido:99_annexes:annex-b-terms-and-definitions:d:dds|DDS]] Quality of Service profile approach used by the Phase 0 Implementation Profile.

QoS profiles control selected DDS communication behaviors for Phase 0 DDS Topics, publishers, subscribers, data writers, data readers, and related communication artifacts. The QoS profile assigned to a DDS Topic or DDS participant must support the [[dido:99_annexes:annex-b-terms-and-definitions:r:runtime_plane|Runtime Plane]] purpose, interaction expectations, reliability needs, durability needs, ordering expectations, and observability expectations associated with the FX logical [[dido:99_annexes:annex-b-terms-and-definitions:l:logical_communication_endpoint|Communication Endpoint]] that the DDS Topic realizes.
