10.2 Information Structure Mapping Principles

Go To Mapping from FX Logical Information Structures to IDL and Generated Types

The Phase 0 Implementation Profile applies the following principles when mapping FX logical information structures to IDL structures and generated types.

Each IDL and generated type mapping identifies:

  • FX logical information structure it realizes;
  • Runtime Plane or Runtime Planes associated with the information structure;
    • DDS Topic or Topics that carry the generated type;
    • Producing FX logical Node or Node Role;
  • Consuming FX logical Node or Node Role;
  • IDL structure name;
  • Generated type name;
  • the source IDL file;
  • Applicable generation rule;
  • Applicable versioning and compatibility expectations; and
  • Traceability relationship back to the Part 3 FX logical information structure.

The mapping does not require every future information structure to exist in Phase 0. Phase 0 maps only the selected information structures needed for the implementation baseline.
