11.1 Overview

Go To Top

The Logical Governance Model defines the platform-independent governance relationships that govern definitions, versions, compatibility, admission, policy constraints, change, and review within the distributed, node-based Logical Architecture / PIM.

Logical governance ensures that Logical Nodes, Logical Communication Endpoints, Logical Data Structure Definitions, Logical Runtime Planes, Logical Interaction Patterns, and logical traceability relationships evolve in a controlled and reviewable way.

The Logical Governance Model does not prescribe a repository, workflow tool, policy engine, approval system, access-control product, configuration system, or runtime governance service. Implementation and deployment profiles select mechanisms that realize logical governance for a specific implementation context.
