The Logical Audit and Provenance Plane SHALL support auditability, provenance, Logical Information Lineage, reconstruction, replay, and defensibility.

Rationale
The Logical Audit and Provenance Plane provides the architectural foundation for preserving historical information needed for auditability, provenance, reconstruction, replay, and defensible review. Maintaining these responsibilities within a dedicated Runtime Plane supports governance and evidence planning while remaining independent of logging, storage, or auditing technologies.

Provenance activities; and

Evidence planning.
Verification
Verification SHALL confirm that the Logical Audit and Provenance Plane supports auditability, provenance, Logical Information Lineage, reconstruction, replay, and defensibility.
Verification activities should include review checks confirming that:

audit responsibilities are assigned to the Runtime Plane;

provenance and lineage activities are represented;
-
replay and reconstruction are supported; and
-
implementation technologies do not redefine the Runtime Plane.
Traceability
