P2-REQ-16-2-003

The Logical Architecture / PIM SHALL organize the architecture around identifiable Logical Nodes.

Part 2, Section 16.2: Distributed Node-Based Architecture Requirements.

Logical Nodes provide the primary organizing concept for the Logical Architecture. Identifiable Logical Nodes establish clear responsibilities, communication relationships, governance boundaries, traceability, and reviewability while remaining independent of implementation technology.

This requirement applies to the Logical Architecture / PIM and all Domain Logical Profiles that specialize it.

It applies specifically to:

  • Logical architectural modeling;
  • Identification of Logical Nodes;
  • Assignment of logical responsibilities; and
  • Logical interaction modeling.

Verification SHALL confirm that the Logical Architecture is organized around identifiable Logical Nodes.

Verification activities should include review checks confirming that:

  • Logical Nodes are explicitly identified;
  • logical interactions occur among Logical Nodes;
  • logical responsibilities are assigned to Logical Nodes; and
  • the architecture consistently uses Logical Nodes as the primary organizational element.

This requirement supports traceability from conceptual Nodes defined in Part 1 to Logical Nodes defined in Part 2.
