P2-REQ-16-3-005

A Logical Node Responsibility SHALL describe an obligation, function, or accountability associated with a Logical Node or Logical Node Role.

Part 2, Section 16.3: Logical Node Requirements.

Logical Node Responsibilities define what a Logical Node or Logical Node Role is expected to perform. Explicit responsibilities improve architectural clarity, governance, traceability, and implementation consistency while avoiding ambiguity regarding participant behavior.

This requirement applies to Logical Node Responsibilities throughout the Logical Architecture / PIM.

It applies specifically to:

  • Logical Nodes;
  • Logical Node Roles;
  • Responsibility definitions; and
  • Governance activities.

Verification SHALL confirm that Logical Node Responsibilities describe obligations, functions, or accountabilities associated with Logical Nodes or Logical Node Roles.

Verification activities should include review checks confirming that:

  • responsibilities are explicitly identified;
  • responsibilities are assigned to Logical Nodes or Logical Node Roles;
  • responsibilities support logical interactions; and
  • responsibilities remain independent of implementation technologies.

This requirement supports traceability between Logical Node Responsibilities and the Logical Nodes and Roles to which they apply.
