A Deployment Artefact SHALL trace to the implementation artefact it deploys, configures, executes, or exposes.

Part 1, Section 13.7: Traceability Requirements.

Deployment artefacts describe operational realisation of implementation artefacts. Traceability from deployment artefacts to implementation artefacts preserves the relationship between executable or operational arrangements and the artefacts they deploy, configure, execute, or expose.

This requirement prevents deployment material from becoming disconnected from implementation realisation and architectural intent.

This requirement applies to Deployment Artefacts.

It applies specifically to artefacts that:

• Deploy implementation artefacts
• Configure implementation artefacts
• Execute implementation artefacts
• Expose implementation artefacts
• Describe deployment realisation

Verification SHALL confirm that each Deployment Artefact traces to the implementation artefact it deploys, configures, executes, or exposes.

Verification activities include review checks confirming that:

• Deployment artefacts identify the implementation artefacts they affect
• Deployment configurations trace to configured implementation artefacts
• Execution artefacts trace to executed implementation artefacts
• Exposure artefacts trace to exposed implementation artefacts
