The Conceptual Architecture SHALL distinguish Data from Structure.

Part 1, Section 13.6: Separation of Concerns Requirements.

Data represents recorded or exchanged information content. Structure describes the organisation, arrangement, or form that supports the expression and processing of data. Treating data and structure as the same concern creates ambiguity between content and form.

This requirement preserves the distinction between information content and the structural arrangements that organise that content.

This requirement applies to Data and Structure references within the Conceptual Architecture.

It applies specifically to:

• Information content
• Information organisation
• Structural description
• Data modelling
• Structured-information processing

Verification SHALL confirm that the Conceptual Architecture distinguishes Data from Structure.

Verification activities include review checks confirming that:

• Data references identify information content
• Structure references identify an organisation or arrangement
• Data descriptions do not replace Structure descriptions
• Structure descriptions do not replace Data descriptions
