P1-REQ-13-4-006
Statement
A Communication Endpoint SHALL identify a point of information exchange used by one or more Nodes.
Source
Part 1, Section 13.4: Core Conceptual Element Requirements.
Rationale
A Communication Endpoint identifies where information exchange occurs in the architecture. It separates the architectural point of exchange from the information exchanged through that point and from the implementation mechanism that realizes exchange.
This requirement supports clear modeling of communication relationships among Nodes without tying conceptual exchange to a specific protocol, topic, queue, service, or interface technology.
Applies To
This requirement applies to Communication Endpoint definitions and references within the Conceptual Architecture.
It applies specifically to:
-
Points of information exchange
-
Node communication
-
Endpoint descriptions
-
Communication relationships
-
Endpoint-related traceability
Verification
Verification SHALL confirm that each Communication Endpoint identifies a point of information exchange used by one or more Nodes.
Verification activities include review checks confirming that:
-
Communication Endpoints identify exchange points
-
Communication Endpoints relate to one or more Nodes
-
Communication Endpoints remain distinct from exchanged information
-
Communication Endpoints remain distinct from implementation-specific communication mechanisms
