TWIN-002d — Remove a Twin Realization Association
Statement
The DIDO-TE SHALL remove the association between a Twin Realization and its Twin Identity only through an authorized operation.

Rationale
The association between a Twin Realization and a Twin Identity establishes which logical twin the realization represents.
Removing that association changes the twin relationship's governed structure. The removal therefore requires an authorized operation rather than an incidental lifecycle, deployment, discovery, communication, or Configuration event.
Removal of one Twin Realization association does not alter the Twin Identity, its Twin Identifier, or associations belonging to other Twin Realizations.
Applies To
Verification
Verification confirms that:
-
An authorized operation removes the specified Twin Realization association.
-
An unauthorized operation does not remove the association.
-
Removing one Twin Realization association does not change the Twin Identity.
-
Removing one Twin Realization association does not change the Twin Identifier.
-
Removing one Twin Realization association does not remove or alter associations belonging to other Twin Realizations.
-
A deployment, restart, discovery event, DDS matching event, or Configuration change does not remove the association unless an authorized removal operation is performed.
Verification includes a Twin Identity associated with multiple Twin Realizations so that removal of one association can be verified independently of the remaining associations.
Traceability
ConOps Relationship
This requirement supports controlled retirement or disassociation of a Twin Realization while preserving the logical Twin Identity and any remaining Twin Realization associations.
