ENV-004c — Control Test Inputs

The DIDO-TE SHALL control each Test Input in accordance with the applicable Test Definition.

Test Inputs stimulate or otherwise influence the behaviour of a Test Object, participating Nodes, and the resulting Test Results.

Control of Test Inputs extends beyond their content. Input identity, version, format, source, order, timing, quantity, integrity, delivery method, and applicable preconditions also affect Test Execution.

Uncontrolled, altered, duplicated, omitted, reordered, delayed, or additional Test Inputs introduce variation and weaken the interpretation, Reproducibility, and Comparability of Test Results.

Recording the Test Inputs actually supplied permits comparison with the applicable Test Definition and supports investigation of deviations.

Verification confirms that:

  • The applicable Test Definition identifies each required Test Input.
  • Each required Test Input has a unique identity and controlled version.
  • The controlled descriptive information specifies the required content, format, source, order, timing, quantity, integrity, delivery method, and preconditions for each Test Input, where applicable.
  • The DIDO-TE verifies the identity, version, content, format, and integrity of each Test Input before use.
  • The DIDO-TE supplies each Test Input to the specified recipient.
  • The DIDO-TE supplies each Test Input in the specified order and under the specified timing and delivery conditions.
  • The DIDO-TE detects an omitted, additional, duplicated, altered, corrupted, reordered, misdirected, premature, or delayed Test Input.
  • The DIDO-TE records each supplied Test Input and its actual content identity, source, recipient, order, time, delivery status, and integrity status as Evidence.
  • The DIDO-TE maintains Traceability among each Test Input, its controlled source, Test Definition, recipient, delivery record, Test Execution, and Test Results.
  • An omitted, additional, duplicated, altered, corrupted, reordered, misdirected, incorrectly timed, uncontrolled, or untraceable Test Input constitutes nonconformance with this requirement.

Verification includes:

  • Inspection of the Test Inputs specified by the Test Definition
  • Inspection of Test Input identities, versions, content, formats, sources, and integrity information
  • Observation of Test Input preparation and delivery
  • Comparison of the required and supplied Test Inputs
  • Inspection of Test Input order, timing, quantity, recipients, and delivery conditions
  • Testing with an omitted, additional, duplicated, altered, corrupted, reordered, misdirected, premature, or delayed Test Input
  • Confirmation that the DIDO-TE detects and records each deviation
  • Inspection of Test Input and delivery Evidence
  • Inspection of Traceability records connecting each Test Input to its source, Test Definition, recipient, Test Execution, and Test Results
  • Confirmation that an incorrect, uncontrolled, or untraceable Test Input produces a nonconformance result
  • Add links to the architecture sections governing Test Input definition, preparation, integrity, sequencing, delivery, observation, Evidence, and Traceability.

Assign the applicable delivery phase.
