ENV-003g — Establish Required Communication Relationships
Statement
Before each Test Execution, the DIDO-TE SHALL establish each communication relationship specified by the controlled descriptive information governing the applicable Test Environment.
Derived From
-
[DTE5] DIDO-TE Requirements Register, source requirement identifier and obligation to be assigned
Rationale
Establishing the required communication relationships creates the controlled paths through which participating Nodes, Test Objects, Test Resources, and supporting services exchange information during a Test Execution.
Each communication relationship must correspond to its specified participants, direction, interface, protocol, address, topic, channel, security controls, and quality characteristics.
Controlling communication relationships prevents absent, unintended, unauthorised, incorrectly configured, or residual communication paths from affecting Test Execution, exposing protected information, or undermining interpretation of the resulting Test Results.
Applies To
Verification
Verification confirms that:
-
The controlled descriptive information identifies each communication relationship required for the Test Execution.
-
The controlled descriptive information identifies the participants, direction, interface, protocol, address, topic, channel, security controls, and quality characteristics applicable to each communication relationship.
-
The DIDO-TE establishes each required communication relationship before Test Execution.
-
Each established communication relationship connects the specified participants.
-
Each established communication relationship conforms to its specified direction, interface, protocol, address, topic, channel, security controls, and quality characteristics.
-
Each required communication relationship supports the exchange specified by the applicable Test Definition.
-
The Test Environment excludes unintended, unauthorised, incorrectly configured, and prohibited communication relationships.
-
The DIDO-TE removes or isolates residual communication relationships from prior Test Executions.
-
The DIDO-TE records the identity, participants, Configuration, security state, and establishment status of each communication relationship.
-
The DIDO-TE maintains Traceability among each communication relationship, its controlled descriptive information, its participants, and the applicable Test Execution.
-
An absent, unintended, unauthorised, incorrectly configured, residual, prohibited, or untraceable communication relationship constitutes nonconformance with this requirement.
Verification includes:
-
Inspection of the controlled descriptive information identifying each required communication relationship
-
Inspection of the specified participants, direction, interface, protocol, address, topic, channel, security controls, and quality characteristics
-
Observation of communication-relationship establishment
-
Confirmation of communication between the specified participants
-
Comparison of each established communication relationship with its controlled descriptive information
-
Testing for unintended, unauthorised, incorrectly configured, residual, and prohibited communication relationships
-
Inspection of communication-relationship identity, Configuration, security-state, and establishment-status records
-
Inspection of Traceability records connecting each communication relationship to its controlled descriptive information, participants, and Test Execution
-
A negative assessment using an absent, unintended, unauthorised, incorrectly configured, residual, prohibited, or untraceable communication relationship
-
Confirmation that the negative assessment produces a nonconformance result
