ENV-001g — Define Configuration Values

The DIDO-TE SHALL define each Configuration value applicable to a Test Environment or record that no Configuration value applies and provide the basis for the determination.

Defining the applicable Configuration values establishes the settings required to instantiate and operate a Test Environment in its intended state.

The defined values support validation of the instantiated Test Environment, reproduction of its starting state, comparison between Test Environments, and assessment of whether a Configuration difference influenced a Test Result.

An explicit determination that no Configuration value applies distinguishes an intentional condition from missing information.

Verification confirms that:

  • Each Test Environment defines every applicable Configuration value.
  • Each defined Configuration value identifies the element or property to which it applies.
  • Each applicable Configuration value in the instantiated Test Environment corresponds to a defined value.
  • A Test Environment without an applicable Configuration value records the determination and its basis.
  • A missing or undefined applicable Configuration value constitutes nonconformance with this requirement.

Verification includes:

  • Inspection of the controlled information for each Test Environment
  • Inspection of the defined Configuration values
  • Inspection of the Configuration values present in the instantiated Test Environment
  • Comparison of the defined values with the values present in the instantiated Test Environment
  • Inspection of recorded determinations that no Configuration value applies
  • Inspection of the basis recorded for each such determination
  • A negative assessment using a missing, undefined, or unexpected Configuration value
  • Confirmation that the negative assessment produces a nonconformance result
  • Add links to the architecture sections governing Test Environment Configuration and configuration control.

Assign the applicable delivery phase.
